Do you remember the Botslab G980H Dashcam (review)? In our test, the system impressed us with the front camera's strong 4K image quality. Just in time for Black Friday Week (until December 1st), the manufacturer is now going all out.
Instead of just reducing the standard model, the entire G980H family has been drastically reduced in price – right down to the large 4-channel flagship that completely monitors your car from the inside and out. We've taken a look at the three variants and will tell you which setup is worthwhile for whom.
1. The Classic for Everyday Use: Botslab G980H Dual Dashcam
If you're looking for solid protection for your daily commute, the dual set is the most sensible entry point. Here, performance focuses on the essentials: front and rear. Although you have to do without side monitoring here, this is sufficient for most accident scenarios in flowing traffic. This system has a 2.45-inch IPS screen without touch functionality.
The big technical advantage of this "smaller" set is its bandwidth. Since the processor only has to process two video streams, the front camera delivers full 4K resolution. This means that license plates and road signs are recorded extremely sharp and detailed – which was also confirmed by our test of the basic version. The rear camera also delivers solid 2K footage.
What's included:
- Resolution: True 4K front + 2K rear for maximum detail.
- Safety: ADAS (driving assistance) warns you of lane departure, collisions, or when the vehicle in front moves off.
- Durability: Thanks to the supercapacitor, it withstands temperatures from -20°C to 70°C.
Normally, the manufacturer charges an RRP of €149.99 for this entry-level package. During the discount campaign, however, the price has been massively reduced, so you can currently get the set for €99.99. This saves you effectively €50, which corresponds to a discount of 33%.
2. The Interior Specialist: Botslab G980H 3-Channel
This model bridges the gap between a standard dashcam and full surveillance. Technically, it is based on the 4K front camera but adds a flexible interior camera. Honestly, this feature is often a gimmick for private drivers who rarely take passengers, but for everyone else, it's a real added value. In addition, the 3-channel system and also the 4-channel system offer a 3.18-inch IPS screen with touch input.
The special thing about this setup is the versatility of the third lens. Since the interior camera can be rotated 360°, you have the choice: Do you want to document what's happening in the back seat (ideal for taxi drivers or ridesharing), or do you point it at the side window to eliminate a blind spot? Technically, the resolution of the rear and interior cameras is set to Full HD (1080p) here so as not to slow down the 4K front.
The highlights:
- All-round view: Covers the exterior and interior of the car.
- Flexibility: The interior camera is rotatable. This is useful for evidence during checks or disputes in the interior.
- With memory card: A 128GB memory card is included directly.
The regular price for the flexible 3-channel system is €269.99. In the sale, this price drops significantly to €159.99. This means a saving of €110 (41%) compared to the normal price.
3. The Security Fortress: Botslab G980H 4-Channel
This is the comprehensive upgrade to our test device. With four cameras (front, rear, 2x side), you can build the "Tesla Sentry Mode feeling" into any car. However, consider the installation effort: four cameras also mean four cables that need to be neatly routed in the car.
You need to consider one technical detail: When all four cameras record simultaneously, the data load becomes enormous. Therefore, the system downscales the front camera to 3K resolution. This is still very sharp, but no longer native 4K like the dual set. In return, you get seamless 560° coverage around the vehicle.
Why this set?
- Total surveillance: Front (170°), rear (150°), and two side cameras cover almost everything.
- Parking space monitor: Ideal for documenting hit-and-runs in parking lots (hardwire kit required).
The flagship of the series is naturally the most expensive, normally costing €299.99. Here you also need to enter the discount code BF18 at checkout to get the best price of €170.99. With the code, you save a total of around €129 (43%) on the RRP.
Shared Technology: What all G980H Models Can Do
No matter which variant you choose, the underlying technology is identically high-quality across all G980H models. The 3- and 4-channel models are operated via a 3.18-inch IPS touchscreen, which makes handling in the car very intuitive. The entry-level version has a 2.45-inch screen without touch input.
Especially important for longevity: Botslab dispenses with conventional lithium batteries and instead uses supercapacitors. These are significantly more resistant to the extreme temperatures that can occur in a car – regardless of summer heat or winter cold (-20°C to 70°C).

Connectivity is also top-notch. Thanks to 5.8GHz Wi-Fi, videos quickly transfer to your smartphone without long waits. A GPS module also logs speed and route directly in the video. If you want to use parking surveillance (impact detection, time-lapse), you absolutely need the separate hardwire kit to connect the camera to the fuse box.
Conclusion: Which one is right for you?
The decision largely depends on your driving profile and parking habits:
The Everyday Driver (Dual Cam): Do you just want to be protected in case of a crash? Do you want to see license plates in detail even at night? Then go for the Dual Version for €99.99. You'll hardly find a better 4K image for that price.
The Passenger Transporter (3-Channel): Do you often take people with you or want to document what's happening inside or directly next to the car? The 3-Channel variant offers you this flexibility without the extensive installation effort.
The Security Enthusiast (4-Channel): Is your car often parked on the street? Are you worried about parking bumps or vandalism from the side? Then the 4-Channel set for €170.99 (with code!) is a must-buy for you. You can't get more surveillance than that.
